Climote won ‘Best North/South Collaboration’ at The Irish TimesIreland Innovation Awards, 2013 held in the Titanic Building in Belfast on 22 March 2013. The Dundalk-based company launched its remote control heating device almost one year ago. Since then, it has won a number of awards including three at the SEAI Energy Show 2012 (‘Best Product of Show’, ‘Best Innovative Product’ and ‘Best Control Product Award’) and now has over 300 trained Climote installers throughout Ireland.

Shortlisted from over 300 applicants, Climote was among the eighteen companies competiting in the final stages of The Irish Times InterTrade Ireland Innovation Awards. Climote has produced a remote control heating device which works with existing heating systems to allow consumers to regulate home heating remotely through a smart home app, a standard mobile phone or a web portal.

Focussed primarily on residential markets, Climote is also used by SMEs and sports clubs. With SEAI accreditation and the support of Enterprise Ireland, it has already made significant inroads into the Irish and UK markets, now working directly with such companies as Electric Ireland, Power NI and Scottish Power.

Climote’s success is based on three interrelated themes: user-friendly, cost effective and energy efficient. “It’s very simple and intuitive to use,” says Eamon Conway, Managing Director of Climote. “It’s about giving control of their home heating from their pocket.”

“Winning this award is a great endorsement for our team and will ensure that we continue go from strength to strength” says Derek Roddy Founder and CEO of Climote.
